After three months in Europe, Stu Larsen relocated to Canada for the month of October 2024. This was the singer/songwriter’s tenth home on his year long search for Solitude.
October 2024
Stu spent the month at Mariposa Farm in Ontario. His cabin was small with no running water or electricity. As the days grew colder, the carpet of yellow leaves in the forest became deeper. Stu was hoping to find a moose on one of his outings.
His new song for the month was titled Nobody Knows. In his songwriting, Stu had resolved to follow the first feeling that came to him each month. And this month he was contemplating questions such as whether there is more to life, whether other people really know him . . . in reality, nobody knows.
Does anybody know, can anybody see, that person lost in the crowd. Perhaps people only know a person through the things they leave behind. Stu’s song for October includes the lines:
i never had too many things
but all of the songs you heard me sing
i leave them behind for you my quiet legacy
