Our Capital Region haiku group, known as Haiku @ The Oaks, normally meets at the Yarralumla Gallery and Oaks Brasserie in Canberra. On this occasion, however, we met at the National Botanic Gardens.
The timing of our meeting coincided with a visit to Canberra by well known haiku and tanka poet, Beverley George. Coffee and haiku conversation flowed freely with discussion covering the writing of poetry, publishing poetry and Beverley recounting tales of her visits to Japan. We were also fortunate to be able to wish Beverley a Happy Birthday!
The Haiku @ The Oaks group meets about every two months and has an informal style, aimed at sharing information about haiku in a very social atmosphere. Visitors are always welcome to join us. Our coordinator, Jan Dobb, will schedule the next meeting for February 2017.
